Introduction by Jimmy Flemion

Song 21 off our LP "Racially Yours", is "The Purification Of The Race". It was written on September 4, 1992, upstairs in the loft area, on the squeaky office chair by the stairway railing. Loved it as soon as it came out of my soul. I think the chorus is beautiful, the way it holds onto and caresses the A diminished chord and ultimately is released and set free on the E major chord.<br&>

Here now are the terrific, purific lyrics from "The Purification Of The Race".<br&>

Lyrics

It's wrong to interfere with what we've got<br&> Would a chimpanzee make it with a dog?<br&> I don't think so, I don't think so<br&>

The purification of the race<br&> Should not be tampered with<br&> Should not be tampered with at all<br&>

It's wrong to interfere with what we've got<br&> Would a spider make it with a rose?<br&> Would a tiger make it with a toad?<br&> I don't think so, I don't think so<br&>

The purification of the race<br&> Should not be tampered with<br&> Should not be tampered with at all<br&>

Notes

The chord progression for the verses is : E Major / E 7 / E Major / E 7 / E Major / E 7 / E major / E 7 / E Major / A b 7 / G b 7 / A Major. The chorus chord progression is : B Major / D b minor / A Diminished / A Major. The 1 / 3 / 2 / 4 major verse chord progression is out of the ordinary and is in keeping with my desire and position from the inception of my songwriting, to explore the different feelings and emotions of different chord choices by placing them in different sequences. Average songwriters use and copy the same worn out rock 'n roll cliche chord progressions to the detriment of the human ear, by virtue of their lack of musical knowledge. As Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull sang in his song "Wind Up", ("I'd rather look around me, compose a better song, 'cause that's the honest measure of my worth"). In the chorus of "The Purification Of The Race", when the A Diminished is played and literally stops time on the word "race", it is at once touching and spellbinding.<br&>

It's wrong to interfere with what we've got. My point is, when something is beautiful, priceless and perfect, let it be, leave it at that and marvel in it. Would a chimpanzee make it with a dog? Really it depends on the chemistry. You've got a chemistry class, I want a piece of your mind, you don't know what you've started when you've mixed it up with mine. You'll have to define dog too. Is it a dog literally, or a dog as in, he's or she's a dog, as in not up to a certain beauty standard. I don't think so, I don't think so. Horniness may sway your decision and opinion in the looks department, when beauty's on a budget. The purification of the race should not be tampered with, should not be tampered with at all. At the heart of essence is purity. It's wrong to interfere with what we've got. Hey, hey get out of my way, I just came back from the U.S.A. Would a spider make it with a rose? Is this Rosemary from the "Shallow Hal" movie, Rose McGowan, Rose Marie from the "Dick van Dyke Show", Rose from the "Titanic" movie, or come to think of it a flower? Would a tiger make it with a toad? Hiding in the road like a Pasolini toad, I'm gonna give up all my load and go ooh yeah. I don't think so, I don't think so. I think therefore I am, therefore I am, I think. The purification of the race should not be tampered with, should not be tampered with at all. Thought is the fount of action, life, and manifestaion, make the fountain pure and all will be pure. Yes Reverend Flemion, whatever you say.<br&>

The track "The Purifaication Of The Race", contains vocals and acoustic guitar by myself and keyboards by Dennis.<br&>
