Introduction by Jimmy Flemion

The fifth track on The Frogs first LP is "She Was A Mortal". The song is one of only 2 songs I wrote in 1984. Its exact date is unknown but sometime before "And So You're The King " was written on November 22, 1984. The song was inspired by a girl I learned in conversation at the bar didn't believe in ghosts and then later in that same conversation I learned she didn't believe in God.

Original Lyrics

She came from Earth<br&> I come from everywhere<br&> An accident of birth<br&> She was a mortal<br&>

She doubted the gods<br&> Until lightning lit up the sky<br&> Then struck her down<br&> For she was destined to die<br&>

And now she's gone<br&> Where did she go?<br&> Her ghost was sold<br&> 'Cause she was a mortal<br&>

She believeed in ghosts<br&> Yet she didn't believe in gods<br&> What hurt the most<br&> Was a great big lightning rod<br&>

And now she's gone<br&> Where did she go?<br&> Her ghost was sold<br&> 'Cause she was a mortal<br&>

Album Lyrics

she came from earth and i came from the gods<br&> to hell with her, to hell with the odds<br&> she believed in ghosts, she didn't believe in gods<br&> but what hurt the most was a great big lightning rod<br&>

and now she's gone, where did she go?<br&> her ghost was sold<br&> 'cause she was a mortal<br&>

she came from earth and i came from the gods<br&> to hell with this verse, to hell with the gods<br&>

and now she's gone, where did she go?<br&> her ghost was sold<br&> 'cause she was a mortal<br&> she was a mortal<br&>

she was waooohh<br&>
