Introduction by Jimmy Flemion

Song 9 off of our LP "Hopscotch Lollipop Sunday Surprise", is "Nipple Clamps". It is a song that is comprised of 2 songs. The first song "Psychedelic Eyes", was written was on January 29,1990 and the second song "Nipple Clamps", was written on March 27, 1993. The thought process involved in the combination of the two songs was a brainstorm from Billy Corgan, who thought that the two songs would weave in and out of each other, since they were both in the same key. And weave in and out of each other they did, like a tapestry. Which flashes me back to the backseat of my parent's car, putting in my Carole King tapes in the car dash cassette player. Now that's punk, me listening to Carole King. Great songwriter, my friends. Hooks and sundancing may break my skin, but "Nipple Clamps" may never hurt me.<br&>

Here now are the lyrics of the original draft for "Nipple Clamps", the complete original draft of "Psychedelic Eyes" with the verses and the interwoven final recorded version of "Nipple Clamps" :<br&>

"Psychedelic Eyes" Lyrics

My house is full of mirrors<br&> You'd know why<br&> You'd know why if you looked like me<br&>

My psychedelic eyes weren't made for this world<br&> My psychedelic eyes don't belong to this world<br&> My psychedelic eyes, my psychedelic eyes, my psychedelic eyes<br&>

Now I know why you hang out with me<br&> Now I know why you are in love<br&> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah<br&>

Original "Nipple Clamps" Lyrics

I could love you, I could love you, I could love you<br&> But you gotta wanna be loved<br&>

In the daylight, In the daylight, In the daylight<br&> But you gotta wanna be loved<br&>

Could you do something for me?<br&> Could you wear those nipple clamps for me?<br&> Could you do something for me?<br&> Wear them like you mean it<br&>

I could love you, I could love you, I could love you<br&> But you gotta wanna be loved<br&>

In the moonlight, in the moonlight, in the moonlight<br&> But you gotta wanna be loved<br&>

I could love you<br&>

Nipple Clamps" (final released version) Lyrics

I could love you, I could love you, I could love you<br&> But you gotta wanna be loved<br&>

In the daylight, In the daylight, In the daylight<br&> But you gotta wanna be loved<br&>

Could you do something for me?<br&> Coyld you wear those nipple clamps for me?<br&> Could you do something for me?<br&> Wear them like you mean it<br&>

My psychedelic eyes weren't made for this world<br&> My psychedelic eyes don't belong to this world<br&> My psychedelic eyes, my psychedelic eyes, my psychedelic eyes<br&>

I could love you, I could love you, I could love you<br&> But you gotta wanna be loved<br&>

In the moonlight, in the moonlight, in the moonlight<br&> But you gotta wanna be loved<br&>

I could love you<br&>

When the music shifts to the "Nipple Clamps" chorus there is a sinister, eery quality underlying the music. The "Psychedelic Eyes" chorus chord progression music is mind expanding and produces an eye opening awareness for the listener.<br&>

I could love you. That line comes from the same man who brought you the lyrics, "If I could love you all, I would be the most powerful man in the world" from the song "The Most Powerful Man In The World". I could love you. If it's not too much to ask. I could love you. I'd appreciate your USDA approved Grade A love. In the daylight. When the lightbulb goes on. In the daylight. The time of the day, when darkness has dispersed. But you gotta wanna be loved. It's your decision. Could you do something for me? May I ask a favor of you? Could you wear those nipple clamps for me? If it's not too much to ask. Could you do something for me? Hello. Wear them like you mean it. With confidence. My psychedelic eyes weren't made for this world. Hello. My psychedelic eyes don't belong to this world. They are not an exclusive, they belong to all worlds. My psychedelic eyes. Extraordinary. My psychedelic eyes. The big-eyed art craze of the 1960's, featuring wide-eyed waifs. My psychedelic eyes. Enchanting. I could love you. It is decidedly so. I could love you. Signs point to yes. I could love you. You may rely on it. But you gotta wanna be loved. Without reservation. Reservations for two. Secluded table in the corner. Candlelit dinner. In the moonlight. How romantic. In the moonlight. Our psychedelic eyes locked. In the moonlight. Since we have concluded that my psychedelic eyes were not made for this world, perhaps they were made for the moon. But you gotta wanna be loved. It must be your shared desire. I could love you. It's easy, once you make up your mind. It's easy, once you make up your heart. It's easy, when it's in your heart's make-up.<br&>

The track "Nipple Clamps" contains acoustic guitar, electric guitar and vocals by myself and keyboards, drums and backing vocals by Dennis.<br&>
